3rd Porsche Leipzig Charity Football Tournament
May 13 2007 saw Porsche Leipzig stage the Porsche Leipzig Charity Football Tournament for the third year in a row.
The 500 Euro entry fees of all teams - this year a total of 8,000 Euros - went to the "Förderkreis der Kinderklinik e.V." support group for a project dealing with research for children with severe hereditary metabolic illnesses. Prof. Dr. med. Wieland Kiess, Chairman of the support group, was handed the donation cheque by Siegfried Bülow, Chairman of the Board of Management at Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
This year's tournament was also held on the artificial pitch at Soccerworld, on the old fairground site, Hall 7. This year's sporting winners were the team from Deutsche Bahn Netz AG, who defeated the squad from BMW Group Niederlassung Leipzig 1:0. This meant that the team from the Alte Nikolaischule had to relinquish the challenge cup that they won last year.

The 8,000 Euros raised by the 2nd Porsche Leipzig Charity Football Tournament in 2006 went to the "LIONS Club Leipzig - Tilia Lipsiensis" with a holiday passport initiative for needy children in Leipzig. The funds were used to purchase 800 summer holiday passports for children from disadvantaged families. In the 2nd tournament the team from the Alte Nikolaischule took the trophy from the BMW Group Niederlassung Leipzig as victorious challenge cup winners.
